Mount of Olives Church has prayerfully developed a phased plan to gather together again in person and on campus. This plan is tentative and subject to change at any time upon further evaluation.

 

At all times and through all phases of the plan we ask you to stay home and worship online-only for your safety and the safety of others that wish to gather in worship:

  • if you are sick, 
  • if you have a fever, 
  • if you have been exposed to COVID-19 in the past 14 days, 
  • if you are a part of a CDC defined higher-risk group
  • if you would simply prefer to worship from home

Phase 1

Small Group Gatherings in Homes

May 31 and June 7

  • Both traditional and praise Online Services continue to be offered.
  • You are welcome to gather at home in groups of 10 or less, following government guidelines, to worship online together. 

Phase 2

One Optional Saturday Service

June 13/14 & June 20/21

  • Both traditional and praise Online Services continue to be offered.
  • You are welcome to gather at home in groups of 10 or less, following government guidelines, to worship online together.
  • One Worship & Prayer Service will be offered, online pre-registration is required for the limited seats available, per government guidelines. (at least six feet separation, health screenings at check in, facemasks, sanitizing following service, restrooms are closed).

Phase 3

Gathering in the Worship Center for Weekend Services

Beginning June 28

  • Both traditional and praise Online Services continue to be offered.
  • You are welcome to gather at home in groups of 10 or less, following government guidelines, to worship online together.
  • Multiple Services will be offered in the Worship Center. Online pre-registration is required for the limited seats available, per government guidelines. (at least six feet separation, health screenings at check in, facemasks and sanitizing following services) Restrooms are Open.

Phase 4

Saturday Outdoor Service on the Courtyard

Beginning July 18

  • Both traditional and praise Online Services continue to be offered.
  • You are welcome to gather at home in groups of 10 or less, following government guidelines, to worship online together.
  • One Saturday Outdoor Service on the Courtyard. Masks are Required. Please bring your own chair (camp chair, beach chair, etc). Households must physically distance at least six feet. Arrive 15-20 minutes early for screening and check in. Children attending must stay with their household. Space will be limited do to COVID distancing restrictions. Restrooms are Open.

Please remember, these safety precautions are in place so that we can better love our neighbor as we love ourselves, as Jesus commanded. We’re trying to do the loving thing and the right thing in being cautious.

 

We understand that some won’t feel comfortable gathering for church yet. We support your decision and encourage you to worship online via our praise or traditional service.

Frequently Asked Questions

During COVID Restrictions

Attending Service

  • Please arrive about 15 minutes before the service, to allow time for screenings and seating.
  • While services are on the Courtyard, please bring your own chair (lawn chair, camp chair, etc.), limited seating available on the Courtyard Furniture.
  • Health screenings are required by current guidelines before entering a gathering or any buildings on campus. Upon walking on to campus, you will be asked to queue up at least six feet apart, will be asked to confirm you are not sick per the CDC evaluation, your temperature will be taken, and we'll make note of attendee names.
  • Upon clearance of the health screening, an usher will direct you to set up your chair. Please remain in your seat placement and remember to physically distance for the safety of those attending the service and working on campus.
  • For the safety of all those in attendance, we ask that you wear a facemask while on campus and during worship services.
  • Offering baskets will not be passed during the service. You may deposit your offering and tithes in marked boxes as you depart or give online.
  • Communion will not be received until further notice.
  • Upon the end of a service, ushers will direct attendees.


Childcare

  • No nursery or Kid City available. Per current guidelines, any children present should remain in the care of their household and not interact with others. 


Additional Safety Precautions


  • No food or drink will be served or sold on campus.
  • Restrooms are Open and are cleaned regularly.
  • Physical distancing recommended: six-foot distance, please no handshaking or hugging.
  • No bulletins or flyers will be passed out, all items will be removed from the pews, no Communication Cards will be collected. We ask that you complete an Online Communication Card to request prayer, more information, or to let us know you attended the service.
