Cursillo
Cursillo weekends are special weekends that give you a unique time to experience God and His love in meaningful ways. Each weekend begins at 4:00pm on Thursday and ends on Sunday late-afternoon. Cursillo Weekends are for everyone! If you have questions about the weekend or would like to attend, email Robin Horton at rhorton@moochurch.org.

More about Cursillo:
Cursillo is a four day weekend retreat offered several time a year. Men and women attend on separate weekends where they hear from several speakers and participate in planned activities and meals. Cursillo is designed to strengthen and renew your faith so you can experience God's Grace.
The retreats are attended by members of Lutheran congregations throughout Southern California. Mount of Olives regularly sends first-time pilgrim attendees as well as leaders and weekend volunteers.Requirements to attend a Cursillo Weekend:
You must be a baptized member in good standing at a Lutheran church. You will be paired with a sponsor who has previously attended Cursillo and must be endorsed by your Pastor. If you are married, both husband and wife must attend the Cursillo weekends paired together.

Grief Recovery Workshop
This workshop is designed for all forms of grief/loss: death, miscarriage, divorce, job loss, financial loss, relocation, estrangement from family, etc. Spring & Fall workshops typically offered.
More than 70 people from Mount of Olives have previously completed this Grief Recovery Workshop and found it to be helpful in dealing with loss.
Program led by Certified Grief Recovery Specialists and a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist, Karen Carson & Dr. Karen Wilkinson.

Longevity Program - "Younger Next May"
The "Younger Next May" MOO Longevity Program is an introduction in transforming the journey of aging into an experience filled with vitality, purpose, and health. At the heart of our mission lies a blend of encouragement and science, where cutting-edge research in longevity and human wellness intersects with practical, accessible strategies for aging well.
Our intention is to slow down aging, reduce frailty and optimize our human biology as we age. Everyone deserves to experience their later years with the utmost quality of life, supported by the latest advancements in medical science and holistic well-being. Tools and tactics are making this possible, at an astonishing rate, and it is important for anyone over the age of 60 to become aware of what is possible, and where Longevity is going.Over these three sessions, and others, we will build a community support to help individuals navigate the complexities of aging. We are committed to empowering people with knowledge, tools, and inspiration, encouraging a proactive approach to longevity that is both hopeful and grounded in scientific evidence.Join us in redefining aging – where every added year is a celebration of life's potential and a testament to the power of community and science working in harmony.Longevity Lab: "Younger Next May" is offered once a month from November 2025-April 2026 on the 2nd Sunday each month from 9:45-10:45am in the NCC. -
Team World Vision
A team representing Mount of Olives Church runs with Team World Vision in the OC Half Marathon each May.
Team World Vision has created an easy couch-to-course training program that enables all people (no matter what shape they are in or what their age may be) to successfully complete the run. Plus, you're not alone! When training is done as a team, there is built-in accountability and everyone wins. Many of our team members are first-time runners and walkers.
The Couch-to-course training program begins January 1st - this program is a perfect way to do something good for those in need in the name of the Lord and have accountability from your team members.
Since 2017, the team from Mount of Olives has raised over $100,000 providing life-changing clean water for for over 1,900 people - Well done! Learn more about the Mount of Olives Team's Impact.
The new team begins training each year in January.

Young Adult Small Group
This Young Adult Small Group Ministry is on Hiatus
If you're interested in volunteering to serve on the leadership team, contact us.
Young Adults are invited to a Small Group that meets at The Rock at Mount of Olives Church. This group meets weekly to study the Bible, pray for one another and connect in Christian Community. Typically, the larger group meets together for part of the evening, sometimes sharing a meal, and then breaks into a Guys Group and Girls Group for further Bible study.
